WEBSITE
A deliberate departure from the traditional tropes of winemaking, The Circle of Fifths is a contemporary expression of wine and music. In close collaboration with Giant Steps, we set out to capture the creative philosophy behind their latest release— a wine grounded in the heritage of single-vineyard excellence, yet composed like jazz: intuitive, improvised, and deeply harmonious.
Interviews were framed with space and stillness, allowing reflection to unfold naturally. B-roll was captured without rigid structure letting the moment lead. The pour of a glass. Light shifting across a table. A quiet exchange between collaborators. Our team worked fluidly with Giant Steps and their stylists to ensure every detail felt intentional yet unforced, not crafted to impress, but to invite.
The final film is as layered as the wine itself. Anchored in a Coltrane reference that threads through the narrative.
It reflects both the conceptual foundation of The Circle of Fifths and the origin of Giant Steps’ own name. This musical framework allowed us to explore a deeper philosophy: improvisation, harmony, and the art of composition. From the individuality of single-vineyard expressions to the evolution toward a unified blend, we shaped a story that feels intimate, grounded, and creatively bold.
Through precise visuals, deliberate pacing, and honest storytelling, we helped position The Circle of Fifths as a statement, a mood, a philosophy. A contemporary story for a new generation of wine lovers who value substance over show.
Just as The Circle of Fifths brings together the finest elements of multiple sites to create something greater than the sum of its parts, our role was to do the same. To compose something cohesive, emotive, and real from fragments of place, light, and rhythm.
I obsessed with the direction. Visually stunning! You’ve captured the essence of the brand perfectly — it feels fresh, artistic, and exactly what we hoped for.
